Newcastle United will not be at full strength on Saturday, and neither will Everton.

The Magpies are without multiple first-team stars, with Kieran Trippier ruled out because of a hamstring problem.

Yoane Wissa is back in training, which is great news for Eddie Howe, but his Toon debut is not going to come against Everton this weekend. Elsewhere, Emil Krafth and Will Osula are ruled out, while Sven Botman is a doubt.

As for David Moyes’ side, they are set to be without Jarrad Branthwaite, Seamus Coleman and Merlin Rohl through injury.

The Toffees are also dealing with suspension, despite their best efforts to overturn Idrissa Gueye’s red card.

David Moyes confirms Idrissa Gueye will miss Everton vs Newcastle United

The Senegal international was sent off in astonishing fashion against Manchester United.

Gueye got involved in an altercation with teammate Michael Keane, which resulted in him raising his hand and slapping the centre-back.

He was given a red card, which means he will miss Saturday’s game against Newcastle United.

However, David Moyes has confirmed that they did try to appeal the decision, only for the Premier League to reject it.

During his pre-match press conference, Moyes said: “We have appealed and our appeal was turned down. We haven’t been given any reason why it was turned down, but we did appeal it, immediately.”

No suspension issues for Newcastle United in the Premier League

After his suspension against Manchester City, Dan Burn is available for Saturday’s game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Do you agree with the Geordie Boot Boys writer predictions for Everton vs Newcastle? Let us know your thoughts!

James Rutherford: “I am backing the Magpies to win against Everton. I was optimistic going into the Manchester City game last week, and I am going to stick with that despite the Champions League defeat to Marseille.” 👀

Jakob Barnes: “Newcastle fans would probably take a boring but efficient win here and the Magpies should have enough to shut out the flailing Everton forwards.” 🫰

Jonathan Gorrie: “It’s hard to have any confidence in this team away from home. At some point, they have to click, but Everton away has all the makings of another dismal defeat. Anyway, who’s looking forward to the game?! 🤣”

He features in Geordie Boot Boys’ predicted Newcastle United XI, with the 33-year-old deployed at centre-back alongside Malick Thiaw.

In terms of the entire Newcastle United squad, not one Toon player is on the brink of a Premier League suspension.

Five yellow cards will result in a one-game ban at this stage of the season, with Burn, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton all tied on three bookings after 12 games.
