Newcastle United star Lewis Hall has moved to allay any fears about the injury he suffered against Burnley on Tuesday night.

Hall, once again, was a standout performer as Newcastle United claimed a vital Premier League win to sign off for 2025.

While they weren’t brilliant, Newcastle United beat Burnley 3-1 at Turf Moor to lift at least some of the pressure on Eddie Howe.

Quite where this team would be without the England international is not worth thinking about.

Of the nine Premier League games Hall has started this season, Newcastle have only lost two of them.

It was a concern, then, when Hall suffered an injury scare for Newcastle against Burnley.

Thankfully, he sounded positive about it after the game.

Hall appeared to roll his ankle in the first half but he carried on.

The same thing happened in the second half and it briefly looked as if Hall would have to go off, with young defender Alex Murphy stripped and ready to come on.

If you could voice one concern to Eddie Howe about Newcastle United right now, what would it be?

Yes, I know we won, but let's not pretend that was great 😂

Still, Hall battled on and saw out the game as Newcastle claimed only their second away win of the Premier League season to date.

Speaking to The Chronicle after the game, Hall said: “I just rolled it in the first half when I came on, I just slipped a little bit, it should be fine hopefully.”

A Lewis Hall injury would wreck Newcastle United’s season

That is good news, although it remains to be seen if he makes Sunday’s clash against Crystal Palace.

Hall is one of Newcastle’s best players and any team in the world would miss their major stars.

Still, what is the most concerning aspect of any injury to Hall is the fact that Newcastle simply don’t have cover in the squad.

Aside from the young Murphy, Tino Livramento and Dan Burn are the only other players who look capable of playing at left-back, and both of them are currently injured.

Newcastle are a far worse team without Hall, so the sight of him going down twice sparked major concern.
