Eddie Howe has provided a positive injury update on another Newcastle United player as well as Yoane Wissa.
The Magpies have been boosted by Yoane Wissa’s return to training, as he takes a giant step towards finally making his Newcastle United debut.
That will not come against Everton, however, with Nick Woltemade predicted to start for Newcastle at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

He will be Eddie Howe’s only striker option, with Will Osula ruled out too with an ankle problem.
The 22-year-old has missed Newcastle’s last four games, but Howe has provided an encouraging update on his status.
Eddie Howe thinks Will Osula could return ‘pretty quickly’ from injury
Ahead of Everton vs Newcastle United, Eddie Howe was asked about Osula’s condition amid the Magpies’ lack of genuine striker options.
“I think he’s okay,” he said.
“He’s been to see a specialist on Monday to get an update on his ankle. He’s still feeling a little bit of pain, even though all the scans have come back clear.
“We hope that he will be pain free, then we can build him up and he’ll be back pretty quickly.”

Newcastle United are desperately missing Will Osula
Hopefully Osula can return soon, as he has proven to be a major miss during his absence. That speaks volumes about how much he has improved and Newcastle United’s striker situation as a whole.
Without Osula, Woltemade has been forced to lead the line on his own. He has had no genuine cover, with Anthony Gordon tasked with playing up front against Marseille on Tuesday night.
That did not work, with Newcastle fans disappointed with Gordon’s performance through the middle. He is much more effective out wide, but the Magpies’ injury situation meant he had to do a job there.
Where should Anthony Gordon play against Everton?
Watching Gordon play up front will infuriate Osula, as that opportunity could have been his had he been fit. Eddie Howe has put a lot more trust in the £10million man this season, having barely utilised him during the 2024/25 campaign.
Osula is showing serious signs of development, and will be welcomed back from this ankle injury with open arms.
