Eddie Howe has a difficult decision to make when Newcastle United face Brighton.
The Magpies have four Premier League games remaining, as they aim to bring Champions League football back to St James’ Park.
Next up for Newcastle United is a trip to the Amex Stadium, which is a ground they have not won at since 2017.
Newcastle often find it difficult away to Brighton, and their task is even harder with Joelinton injured.
But Eddie Howe’s side are in spectacular form, and this is Geordie Boot Boys’ predicted Newcastle United XI to face Brighton.
Dan Burn set for Brighton return
For the ninth game in a row, Eddie Howe will name the same back four.
That means that Dan Burn will start against his former club, having arrived at Newcastle United from Brighton in January 2022.
He remains a pivotal player on Tyneside, scoring his first Premier League goal of the season during Newcastle’s win over Ipswich.
Burn and Fabian Schar do suddenly have some competition in reserve, with Sven Botman back from injury after undergoing knee surgery. However, it would be a major surprise if the Dutchman was thrust into the starting XI.
Newcastle United without Joelinton
Newcastle United look set to be without Joelinton at the Amex Stadium. In fact, they could be without him for the rest of the season.
Joe Willock started against Ipswich in place of the Brazilian, and is likely to retain his place in midfield for the clash with the Seagulls.
The 25-year-old will benefit from a sustained run in the starting lineup, despite struggling last time out.
That means that Lewis Miley will be a substitute yet again. The Toon wonderkid has turned 19-years-old, but will not be handed a start as a belated birthday gift from Eddie Howe.
Anthony Gordon decision made
Yet again, Anthony Gordon is likely to start Sunday’s game as a substitute.
Howe recently stated that Gordon is still not fully fit, while there is no reason for him to replace either Jacob Murphy or Harvey Barnes out wide.
The 24-year-old will aim to make an impression off the bench, up against the side he was sent off against back in March.
Predicted XI vs Brighton: Pope; Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento; Bruno, Tonali, Willock; Murphy, Isak, Barnes.
