Newcastle United are getting set to make their second signing of the summer.
It has already been confirmed that Antonio Cordero is joining Newcastle United, with the 18-year-old heading to Tyneside on a free transfer from Malaga. The Magpies have high hopes for him, with Newcastle believing Cordero has more potential than Ayoze Perez.
Cordero has been signed as a project player. He is seen as someone who can grow and develop before ultimately saving the club a lot of money.
Now another project player is set to head to St James’ Park.

Newcastle United set to sign Park Seung-soo
According to the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United are set to sign Park Seung-soo from Suwon Samsung Bluewings.
The 18-year-old can play on the left or right of attack, standing at 6ft tall. His arrival could coincide with Newcastle’s pre-season trip to South Korea. The Magpies are set for two friendlies in South Korea over the summer, with Eddie Howe’s side facing Team K-League (30th July) in Suwon and Arsenal (3rd August) in Seoul.

Once Park Seung-soo’s move becomes official, he will become only the second South Korean player to sign for Newcastle United. The other was Ki Sung-yueng, who joined on a free transfer in 2018.
Park Seung-soo has been on Bayern Munich’s radar
Newcastle will have high hopes for Park. The goal will be for him to blossom into a Premier League calibre forward and contribute towards Howe’s side. Alternatively, he will improve so much that the Magpies can sell him and make a good amount of profit to enhance their PSR position.
Interestingly, the teenager has already had a taste of European football. In 2024, he had a trial with Bayern Munich II. Park was sent to Germany to train with the Bundesliga giants’ reserve side, with Bayern Munich interested in taking a closer look.
However, a full transfer was not possible as Park was only 17-years-old at the time. Having turned 18-years-old in March, the attacker is now eligible to sign for an overseas club.
It looks like Newcastle United will be that overseas club, as they swoop in to land what will hopefully be a future star.
