Newcastle United confirmed team news vs Manchester City
Newcastle’s latest team news is looking promising.
Indeed, Gordon could feature after suffering with a hip problem in recent weeks. Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall and Nick Pope are also in contention after recent knocks.
Sandro Tonali is also fully fit despite suggestions over the international break that he had suffered a blow.
Dan Burn is suspended following his red card away at Brentford earlier this month.
Prior to the game, Howe confirmed: “Anthony Gordon is very close. He’s worked well during the break and he’s touch and go for the game. We’ll make a very late decision.
“Nick Pope has trained and there’s no problems there.”

Yoane Wissa is still injured for Newcastle and there is no clear return date for the striker at this stage.
“He’s working well,” said the Newcastle United manager.
“He’s not back training with us yet but he’s close. He’s working with the sports science team and almost entering a pre-season with them currently. He’s done a lot of work, he’s looked good and looked better with every session. He’s close to training with us but before he gets to there it’s difficult to give you a return date.”
William Osula is also likely to miss the next few games with an ankle problem.
Newcastle United predicted lineup vs Manchester City
It would not be a surprise to see Gordon, Pope and Hall all start. Livramento, meanwhile, looks slightly less likely to be thrown in from the off given the extent of his absence.
A change in system could be on the cards, given Newcastle’s recent struggles. Howe has previously played a back three in big games and could do so again here.
