Matthias Jaissle lifted silverware in his first match in charge of Newcastle United as two goals from Yoane Wissa saw the Magpies come from behind to beat Valencia at Mestalla Stadium.

Jaissle handed a debut in goal to Lukáš Horníček, who signed from Braga earlier in the week, while Miodrag Pivaš made his first start in black and white. Malick Thiaw wore the captain's armband on his 25th birthday.
