Newcastle United have issued a strong update for supporters planning to travel to Marseille for the upcoming Champions League clash on Tuesday, 25th November, urging caution and adherence to strict safety guidelines.
In their official statement, the club highlighted that fans without match tickets should not travel, while those attending are advised to avoid the Old Port (Vieux Port) area, which French police have designated a no-go zone due to safety concerns.
Supporters are also instructed not to wear Newcastle colours or gather in large groups in the city, particularly on the evening before and the day of the match. The club emphasised vigilance against street crime, including pickpocketing, and reminded fans to take sensible precautions throughout their stay.
A designated meeting point has been arranged at Place de la Joliette for matchday travel to the Stade Vélodrome.
