Chelsea fans watched on at Stamford Bridge as Newcastle United eased to a 1-0 away win.

The first United win at Stamford Bridge since 2012.

Anthony Gordon scoring on 18 minutes and Chelsea never really convinced, as Newcastle saw out the victory.

So what is the mood like amongst Chelsea fans now?

Fair to say that this home defeat swiftly following the hammering by PSG hasn’t helped things.

Chelsea fans seemingly not too happy ahead of facing PSG in that second leg, indeed, Chelsea fans not very happy about anything…

Comments from Chelsea fans via their message board The Shed End :

‘Funny thing is Newcastle haven’t even gotten out of first gear.

Got their goal. Sat back and invited us because they knew we wouldn’t do anything.’

‘Dreadful – Newcastle didn’t really have to do much and they picked up 3 points

We huffed and puffed and tipped and tapped…

And got what we deserved – nothing.’

‘Newcastle waste time especially last 10 mins we couldn’t even do that Wednesday we give three goals away!’

‘Surely must win some kind of green award for the amount of recycling we do.’

‘We didn’t get a player sent off today and so we should get a FIFA peace prize maybe?’

‘This bloke is so clueless, remember sacked by HULL.’

‘Team is so inconsistent how do we go from beating villa by 4 to this rubbish.’

‘Villa is the only team we could beat because they don’t defend their box. Any structured defence and our classroom managers haven’t a clue.’

‘I just don’t get it. You pay all of that money, and you’re just going to sit in silence? Where’s the passion for the club? There’s no point in some coming and saying it’s just tourists, it’s an easy excuse to blame the tourists.’

‘Tottenham’s impending relegation is the only thing we have to be happy about with football atm.’

‘These clown lake fu..ers spoke about continuity and faith .. in the 3 years here they have had 6 managers and 30-40 player moves.. what do you expect from these buttons..’

‘These owners are waiting on a SuperLeague structure (not that we’d qualify for that anyway) and individual club media rights cos they are that deluded that they think we would all sign up for that sh.. on a DAZN CFC.LDN ppv channel. ‘

‘I see us as an 8th-10th club year on year for the foreseeable future.

And the ownership will accept that as long as they make money.’

‘How are they going to make money from that though? They will lose champions league money and sponsors.’

‘I don’t see how they can with the amortisation and the loans they’ve signed up for … we simply HAVE to be a Champions League club.’

‘It’s been a terrible 4 years for the club. The CWC was covering the cracks, but there has been no upside under this ownership, it’s just years of pain.’

‘That was a difficult watch. Rosenior looking out of his depth. Players with no self-belief.

Blueco experiment collapsing in front of our eyes. It’s not pretty.’

‘They must surely be very close to all out panic in the board room …

3 weeks until the 24/25 accounts get posted on Companies House ‘

‘F… these American owners, they are ruining the Premier League.

They don’t give a sh.. about football, their one and only interest is the money. Chelsea could fold and Eghbali and Boehly wouldn’t feel any shame about destroying one of the biggest football clubs in the country, they would write it off as a failure and move on to something else.

The FA has also completely failed to protect English football. Their fit and proper test when it comes to ownership has done one thing, put almost half of the biggest league in the world in the hands of billionaires from a country that doesn’t even like the sport.’

‘Had chances but didn’t take them, loss of concentration at the back, hope the Reece experiment ends now.

This is depressing, worst week for this club in years.’

‘Did we really though? Did we actually create any real decent scoring opportunities. Perhaps Palmer’s slice but I’m struggling other than that. Even James’ free kick hits the post on the outside. It’s probably Ramsdale’s easiest away game this season.’

‘Agreed. It was a walk in the park for Newcastle.’

‘I’m definitely not going to watch Tuesday night (1st in yrs to miss)… PSG must have been laughing at that tonight, cos that’s what they’ll do come Tues but they will destroy us on the break and not need to fall over like Gordon!

Need to spend billions again this summer to replace the deadheads on that team.’

‘I like a 5.30 TV game. Get all up for it. Son comes over, get a takeaway and enjoy watching the super blues. Not tonight though. That was poor and now wondering where our club is heading.

Other than Palmer, the rest were bang average. So little creativity, so ponderous and no urgency. We never looked like scoring. Defence was all over the place – both Trev and Fofana deserve to be dropped. Garnacho reminding everybody why we shouldn’t have signed him.

That game summed up how I feel about football in general right now. Boring.’

‘Cu..s. The lot of them. #BlueCoOut’

‘We are finished as a competitive top level football club, you are absolutely delusional if you think otherwise.’

‘We’ve got so many players who can’t head or shoot on target.

They spend so much time making 5 yard passes and have neglected the part that wins you games of football, putting the ball in the net.’

‘Newcastle just playing the way you do against us and we are just hoping someone can make something happen.’
