Chelsea fan Paul Merson has no doubt that the club he supports would dream of appointing Eddie Howe.

With Liam Rosenior lasting only three months, the Stamford Bridge club now looking for yet another new manager.

A total shambles under these Chelsea owners as they hire and fire managers at such a rapid rate.

Whilst most Newcastle United fans continue to back Eddie Howe ahead of a huge summer and 2026/27 season, a sizeable minority wanting a change.

Paul Merson telling Sky Sports: “I am a big fan of Eddie Howe and if Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle, they will be queueing up around the corner for him. So that tells you everything, be careful Newcastle.”

All the signs are that Newcastle United are going to keep faith with Eddie Howe.

This comes as the Newcastle United owners are set to arrive on Tyneside this week.

Meetings to be held at Matfen Hall with Eddie Howe, as well as with senior staff to talk about the major infrastructure projects and other issues to progress the club, on and off the pitch.

Paul Merson insisting on Eddie Howe: “Chelsea would take him tomorrow morning…they would take him all day long. We’re talking about a next England manager, one hundred per cent.”

Thomas Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea in May 2021 and runners-up in the Premier League. The 2021/22 season, Tuchel led Chelsea to 3rd in the Premier League as well as losing finalists in both domestic cup competitions and got to the Champions League quarter finals. The new/current Chelsea owners then came in and on 7 September 2022 Thomas Tuchel was sacked.

Chelsea have had five different managers since sacking Tuchel and are now looking for a sixth after Liam Rosenior’s departure. The club a total shambles and the financial issues they face are staggering, the levels of debt the Chelsea ownership are responsible for and the interest payments, simply beyond belief.
