POSITIVES
Context
It’s early in the season and clearly there is a very long way to go.
Nobody gets relegated in September.
Overall, it’s been a decent enough start. The team is in a rebuild phase, with many new players.
We’re going to have to grasp the nettle and be patient.
This is the standard ups and downs of following NUFC, right?
A nice cameo
Baz Toure did well when he came on. He’s a good winger.
Surely it’s time to unleash his pace and talent?
He’s had to be patient but in the aftermath of a defeat surely doors open for him and a few others.
Sparing our blushes
A 4-1 scoreline was bad enough at Elland Road but we’ve got Lukas Hornicek to thank for preventing a real annihilation.
He’s made some good saves as Leeds laid siege to our goal.
It proves what a good shot stopper he is.
NEGATIVES
Defensive worry
There is a concern that we are brittle at the centre of defence.
That we are a new centre-back light after the summer transfer window.
It could cost us this season. Shipping that many goals is not nice to see.

Elanga woe
The worst moment came even before a ball was kicked, when it emerged Anthony Elanga needs a scan on an injury.
Such is the way that things can turn around in football, he’s now a player we really missed.
Let’s hope he’s not out for long. His pace is a major asset.
Inexperience shows
When Nico left the fray we were left with a pivot of Sean Steur and Lewis Miley.
Both great young players but big management is also vital. We seemed to lack the extra bite needed in the engine room.
Losing Nico was rotten luck too. He may have to sit out the Hull game if that’s concussion.
