Interesting to see Alexander Isak back in the Liverpool squad for their game against PSG in the Champions League.

A disastrous signing so far for Arne Slot and the scousers, spending £130m on a player who in 20 Champions League and Premier League appearances has scored only two goals.

Back from injury in Paris tonight, Alexander Isak is amongst the subs.

Massive pressure on Arne Slot.

After Saturday’s FA Cup 4-0 hammering at Manchester City, Virgil Van Dijk admitted that the Liverpool team had given up in that match.

Liverpool were knocked out of the Champions League last season by PSG and the French club are favourites to do again.

Newcastle United of course got a great 1-1 draw in Paris in January and could and should have won it when easily the better team in the second half.

United fans now looking on with interest to see what Liverpool can do and whether Alexander Isak will be seen on the pitch.

PSG team: Safonov, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes, Zaire Emery, Vitinha, Neves, Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia

Subs: Chevalier, Marin, Lucas Beraldo, Zabarnyi, Goncalo Ramos, Lee, Hernandez, Mayulu, Fernandez, Mbaye

Liverpool team: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Konate, van Dijk, Kerkez, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Frimpong, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Ekitike

Subs: Woodman, Misciur, Isak, Salah, Chiesa, Jones, Gakpo, Robertson, Nyoni, Ngumoha

Elsewhere, another cracking tie sees Newcastle United’s conquerors Barcelona at home to Atletico Madrid in the other Champions League match tonight.

Tuesday saw Arsenal sneak a late 1-0 win away to Sporting Lisbon, whilst Real Madrid lost 2-1 at home to Bayern Munich.

Not sure who I want to win the Champions League (now that Newcastle United are out!) but what I do know for sure is that I would love to see Liverpool hammered tonight. Then Arsenal find a way to get knocked out next week by Sporting Lisbon in the second leg at home.

None of that wanting all English clubs to do well where I am concerned!
