Marco Gabbiadini has been talking about Sandro Tonali leaving Newcastle United.
The Italy international making his move to Tottenham.
Still waiting official confirmation but it obviously is a done deal.
Tottenham had tried to lowball Newcastle United with a derisory £75m offer, that then increased to £90m.
However, United insistent on their £100m valuation if Sandro Tonali was to leave and Tottenham forced to meet that figure. With a £92.5m transfer fee and then another £7.5m in “very achievable” future add-ons.
Marco Gabbiadini speaking to BBC Newcastle about the Sandro Tonali deal: “Newcastle United have had an issue for a number of years with the financial situation and selling players for that kind of value [selling Sandro Tonali for £100m] and replacing them with younger players, will make a huge change to their squad cost ratio.”
The former Sunderland striker adding: “It [selling Sandro Tonali to Tottenham for £100m] is probably a positive thing in many respects but it all hinges on what they do in this window, who they get in, and how they react to this move. It is sad for the fans because you get attached to players but the reaction will only play out when you see who starts the season for you.”
