Sunday morning brings news that Newcastle United have reached agreement with Benfica on the transfer fee to sign Amar Dedic.
Sky Sports News say their information is that a compromise £29.5m deal has been agreed between the two clubs.
They report that Amar Decic is now set to fly to Tyneside and have his medical on Monday.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international turns 24 on Tuesday and has 31 caps for his country.
Sky Sports News add that only the final formalities need to be sorted and Amar Dedic will be signed in time to train for some of this coming week and expected to play against Liverpool next Sunday with Tino Livramento still recovering from his calf injury.
The £29.5m deal will bring Amar Dedic from Benfica to link up again with his old boss who managed him at RB Salzburg.
It has already been widely reported that the right-back (can also play on the left side of defence if required) has agreed personal terms with NUFC.
Amar Dedic was born in Austria but already has 31 senior caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina, including playing for them at this summer’s World Cup.
Amar Dedic played 44 competitive matches for Benfica after joining last summer, scoring one goal and getting five assists.
It is no secret that Newcastle United were looking to strengthen the right-back position with Trippier and Krafth leaving, whilst Tino Livramento continues to be plagued by injuries.
