The route to the 2026 World Cup final is now mapped out for England.
As it is for 31 other teams to qualify for the knockout stages.
All 72 group matches have now been played, the 48 teams reduced to 32 in the biggest World Cup finals ever seen, certainly in terms of number of countries and matches.
A total of 104 matches in all, with 32 still to go.
The 16 eliminated at the end of the group stage are: Czech Republic, Qatar, Haiti, Turkey, Curacao, Tunisia, New Zealand, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Panama, Uzbekistan, Scotland, Iran and South Korea.
More importantly, these are the 32 to make it through to the knockout stages and the route for England and the rest that could lead them to the World Cup final on Sunday 19 July 2026.
As you can see, what looks a pretty generous route for England if they can take advantage, certainly the next couple of stages anyway.
On Wednesday 1 July it is a 5pm (all times UK) last 32 match against DR Congo.
If England get through that, they will already know their last 16 opponents because Mexico face Ecuador at 2am on Wednesday. That last 16 match would be played in Mexico City with a 1am kick-off on Monday 6 July.
As for the quarter-finals, if England reach that point they will play in Miami on Saturday 11 July with a 10pm kick-off. That would be against one of Brazil, Japan, Ivory Coast or Norway.
If England get to the semi-final, that would be an 8pm kick-off on Wednesday 15 July.
Finally, the World Cup final is 8pm on Sunday 19 July.
