‘You have to be happy with a point when you come back from 2-0 down!
Keeps the unbeaten run alive on a day where the referee did his best to ruin it.
Didn’t handle the press well enough at the start of the game and thankfully a great goal from Barnes got us straight back into it after their second. Pleasing for Ramsey to get off the mark already for the season.
We looked a bit jittery at the back, neither Botman or Thiaw at their best today.
Off to The Den next where hopefully MFP can make his full debut, then we march on to Elland Road where we hopefully have a better referee and a bit of an uplift in performance, but it is early days of Newcastle 2.0 and we need to be realistic!’
Billy Miller:
‘We just can’t beat Bournemouth!
Definitely take a point and a continuation of our unbeaten start to the season considering we were 2-0 down.
Today was challenging and felt like the first real test which seems weird to say considering what our first two fixtures were.
We lost too many duels and made so many silly errors. Our worst performance of the new era but we still got a draw. The next three games will tell us a lot.’

‘Was unable to watch so relying on text updates from the app. Poor start it seems, thank goodness for Barnes’ strike to keep us in it.
Seems like there was only one team going to win it at the end, Ramsey with an invaluable equaliser that keeps us unbeaten and our great start intact.’

‘Absolutely gutted, an infuriating game.
The first goal from a blatant foul on Elanga and their second a freak mess of a goal.
That gave United an uphill task but the rest of the game was an abject disgrace.
Bournemouth overselling every moment of contact like a 90s Italian side and the game being well and truly robbed from United by a terrible referee giving them everything.
I’m fresh out of the ground so remains to be seen whether Pardo’s alleged foul on Smith when through on goal had more to it than the cheating swan dive it looked amongst multiple dubious calls.
Ramsey’s well taken equaliser brings some cheer but I’m thoroughly done with this tinpot opponent turning up here and ruining our weekend to the benefit of their couple of hundred spectators.’

‘Since probably April this year I have been really bad on my feet and I’ve got diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, which makes walking very painful, though it didn’t stop me from going to Bristol City, Valencia and Tottenham last week.
So today we got out of dodge and these boots will be making for Millwall on Tuesday.’

‘It could have been worse but it could have been better.
From 0-2 down we’ve come back against a Bournemouth team that always seem to play well when they come up here. One day we’ll get them!
It wasn’t a great first half, so we had Barnes to thanks for halving the deficit.
Both of our goals were good. We left it late but it’s a point against one of our bogey teams.
We stay unbeaten but we all come away feeling we could really have taken a big step today,
Special mention for the referee Rob Jones from Merseyside. I hope he reads this. He was absolutely appalling. Hopeless.’

‘Delighted with the result and in my tiny mind I’m somehow thinking I’ve influenced it.
I went out and collected litter down the local canal and said to my wife that this good deed will probably get me a telly in my room when I go to hell but I’d settle for a late goal for us today.
At 1-2 I had to give my daughter a lift to work and went a different route home past a field where I know there are always Magpies so I could see two and I did! Got home and it was 2-2.
I’m gonna spend the rest of the day helping old ladies across the road whether they want to cross it or not.
Seriously though, I’m delighted and relieved we managed to get something from that game.
We have a determination we haven’t shown for a long time. I remember reading about our manager making his players believe the game is never over. Good for him. Geordie passion. It’s what it’s all about.’

Was a frustrating watch at times but we’ve manged to grind out a result.

‘Well, that was a diabolically bad refereeing performance.
On the balance of the chances, you could argue that the draw was a fair result, but Newcastle would have created the chances to win the game had we had a competent official.
Fernandez Pardo was hauled down unceremoniously when bearing down on the Bournemouth box, yet somehow the ref waved play on despite it being a clear yellow card offence.
Bournemouth were their typical blood and thunder press for an hour but ran out of steam as they have all season.
I expect Jaissle will be a frustrated man post-match as we were denied the opportunity to put Bournemouth under sustained pressure thanks to the man in the middle who wanted to be the centre of attention.’
