The picture surrounding the Carabao Cup fourth round draw has now become a little clearer.
We are now down to 27 teams who could potentially win the whole thing.
Tuesday night saw Leyton Orient, Hull, Millwall, Middlesbrough and Lincoln bow out at the third round stage.
Whilst we saw Newcastle United, Bournemouth, Bradford, Sunderland and Palace progress.
The other 22 teams will play in their third round matches that will end with Man City v Norwich on Thursday 17 September.
The organisers of the competition have revealed that the Carabao Cup fourth round draw will be held before that final third round match.
The draw to be held after the Man U v Brighton third round clash that is an 8pm kick-off on Wednesday 16 September.
The 16 teams that eventually progress will then face Carabao Cup fourth round ties in the week commencing Monday 26 October.
League one Bradford progressed to the last 16 on Tuesday night but there are only two others guaranteed not to be Premier League clubs, as you can see below.
With the eight clubs involved in the Champions League and Europa League not allowed to be drawn against each other in the third round, it makes the possibility of progress for lower league teams far less likely.
