Thursday has now brought news of four more Newcastle United matches that have been moved.
All four games to be shown by Sky Sports.
The clubs, Premier League and broadcasters having made this small concession to the fans, letting supporters know well in advance what is happening around the festive period.
So whilst we still await the changes for matches currently scheduled for November (after Everton at home that has already been moved to Monday 2 Nov) and most of December (before Christmas), we now DO know when the four Newcastle United Premier League matches directly after Christmas will be staged.
The club announcing: ‘Four of Newcastle United’s Premier League fixtures have been rescheduled after being selected for live television coverage across the festive period. ‘
Then adding: ‘Broadcast selections for match rounds in November are due to be announced by the week commencing 21 September 2026 and match rounds in December will be announced by the week commencing 19 October 2026.’
The new dates/times for Newcastle United festive Premier League matches:
Saturday 26 December 2026 – Newcastle v Man City (8pm) Sky Sports
Wednesday 30 December 2026 – Newcastle v Forest (7.30pm) Sky Sports
Sunday 3 January 2027 – Chelsea v Newcastle United (2pm) Sky Sports
Thursday 7 January 2027 – Man U v Newcastle United (8pm) Sky Sports
(FA Cup third round matches will be played on or around the weekend of Saturday 9 January 2027)
The club’s official statement adding: ‘Over the Christmas and New Year period, clubs have at least a 60-hour break between fixtures. This is in keeping with commitments made to clubs to address the congested festive schedule – in the context of an expanding European and international fixture calendar.’
