Thomas Tuchel named his latest England squad on Friday.
Now he has lost five of the players he named three days ago.
The FA revealing on Monday afternoon that this quintet have had to withdraw from the England squad for the September and October 2026 internationals due to injuries.
Tino Livramento, Kobbie Mainoo, Cole Palmer, Marcus Rashford and Declan Rice have all been ruled out of England’s upcoming four UEFA Nations League fixtures.
England have a match against World Cup winners Spain, a 7.45pm kick-off at Wembley on Saturday 26 September.
Then for Thomas Tuchel and his players it is the Czech Republic v England on Tuesday 29 September, with a 7.45pm kick-off. Followed by Croatia v England at 5pm on Saturday 3 October. Finally, it is England v Czech Republic at 7.45pm on Tuesday 6 October.
Instead of having three international breaks each for a fortnight in September, October and November, the football authorities have combined the September and October 2026 ones in just one that lasts three weeks. The November 2026 break remains the same, lasting two weeks.
At the same time as naming five withdrawing, The FA naming two that have been added, James Garner and Morgan Gibbs-White have now subsequently been called up and will report to St. George’s Park on Tuesday with the rest of the squad.
After the win over Hull on Saturday, Matthias Jaissle revealed that Tino Livramento’s had felt some discomfort after the training session on Friday and was due to have an MRI scan: “He suffered with some discomfort after Friday’s training, he will have a MRI scan but nothing more from my side on this.”
