How many Premier League Big Six managers have left their club in the last five months?

In the last 151 days from 1 January 2026 to 30 May 2026 there have been seven announcements.

So an average of every 21 days, every three weeks, one of the Premier League Big Six clubs losing their manager.

Six sackings and one voluntary departure.

The Premier League Big Six that bring in more money than any other English clubs, losing so many managers.

These are the Premier League Big Six announced departures (so far…) in 2026:

Chelsea
Enzo Maresca sacked 1 January 2026

Manchester United
Ruben Amorim sacked 5 January 2026

Tottenham
Thomas Frank sacked 11 February 2026

Tottenham
Igor Tudor sacked 29 March 2026

Chelsea
Liam Rosenior sacked 22 April 2026

Manchester City
Announcement made on 22 May 2026 that Pep Guardiola is leaving

Liverpool
Arne Slot sacked 30 May 2026

Tottenham and Manchester United had new permanent bosses appointed and starting work these last two months, whilst Chelsea have announced Xavi Alonso as their new manager but he doesn’t start work until 1 July 2026.

Bizarrely, Enzo Maresca sacked by Chelsea is favourite to take over at Manchester City.

Even more bizarrely, I am hearing and reading arrogant Liverpool fans and former players believing that having won consecutive Champions League trophies, Luis Enrique will be willing to leave his exciting young multi-trophy winning team to take over the mess at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Champions League loser Mikel Arteta is currently in his seventh year at Arsenal having been appointed on 20 December 2019.

The other five members of the Premier League Big Six have now lost 19 managers between them since Arteta was appointed: Chelsea (6), Liverpool (2), Tottenham (6), Manchester City (1) and Manchester United (4).
