Eli Hall has revealed that he has signed for Newcastle United.

The teenager announcing the news via his social media, a photo of him signing for NUFC alongside these words: “Proud to be a Newcastle player, time to ball out.”

A month ago the Secret Scout site revealed that Newcastle United were expected to win the race to sign the highly rated Eli Hall, Spurs one of the many other clubs trying to sign the exciting teenager.

Schoolboy Eli Hall made history when last season he became the youngest ever to play for the Ipswich Town Under 18s at the age of 14 years and 165 days old, Hall played right-back in that match.

At the end of the season Eli Hall deregistered from the Ipswich Town academy and by doing so, this allows young players to move on elsewhere and only minimal compensation needing to be paid by the new club.

Ipswich Town had been desperate to keep him but he repeatedly refused the offer of a scholarship.

Since the October 2021 takeover, Newcastle United have signed a lot of promising young players from other clubs, which will hopefully pay longer-term benefits.

Obviously Newcastle United fans desperate to hear news of more senior signings this summer but also great to hear that so many moves are being made to bring in the potential stars of the future.
