Newcastle v Sunderland ticket queue didn’t quite go according to plan…

Monday morning was the Newcastle v Sunderland ticket queue.

The last chance for Newcastle United members to potentially get a derby ticket.

The ballot having already gone for Newcastle v Sunderland tickets.

For those of you not familiar with the routine.

Ahead of the queue sale for a particular match, the club publicise in advance what day it will be on.

The queue opens usually at 10am but you log in before that time, then get allocated a random place in the queue when it opens at 10am.

I always have hopes of getting a Newcastle United ticket in the ballots/queues, even if those hopes are often dashed.

On this occasion it reminded me of the old joke where the only hopes turned out to be Bob Hope, No Hope and WesterHope.

Contacting friends who are also Newcastle United members, they also had some crazy queue positions this morning.

One of them at 10am easily beat my 96k+, he had one that was 112k+!!

Can anybody ‘better’ that? Please let me know in the comments.

Also, just out of interest, has anybody ever got number 1 in the NUFC ticket sales?
