Manchester City have now revealed their appeal decision on the Premier League guilty verdicts.

On Tuesday those 114 guilty verdicts were made public by the EPL after an independent commission had concluded their deliberations and the decisions could finally could be published.

Manchester City had until today (Friday 2 October 2026) to decide whether or not they would appeal against the 114 guilty verdicts.

Now on Friday the club have made public that decision.

An official club statement: ‘Manchester City Football Club can confirm that at 7pm on Thursday 1st October 2026 the Club lodged its comprehensive Appeal against the opinion of the Premier League Commission, in relation to the Premier League disciplinary matter.’

Manchester City going on to add: ‘The Club’s firm position is that, on multiple grounds, the opinion contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe. The Club is innocent of the accusations made by the Premier League and a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence exists in support of all of its positions, relating to this case. We will continue to respect due process and are necessarily restricted in what we can say further until all proceedings are complete.’

So to nobody’s surprise, Manchester City now looking to stretch this process out even lomger.

Something which to most observers is simply delaying the inevitable, hoping for a miracle…

Earlier on Friday The FA released their own official statement regarding Manchester City and the Premier League: “The Independent Commission’s decision has significant implications for the integrity of the game. We are carefully considering the decision and its implications and will take action where appropriate. As proceedings between the Premier League and Manchester City Football Club remain ongoing, we do not intend to comment further at this stage. We will, however, continue to monitor developments closely.”

On Tuesday the Premier League made their official announcement revealing that Manchester City had been found guilty by the independent commission of breaking ALL charges related to breaches of the Premier League financial rules between 2009/10 and 2017/18. They also found that Manchester City were guilty of all charges, except one, that related to non-cooperation with the Premier League investigation.

The Premier League saying  that the sham commercial deals were part of a “disguised funding scheme” to the tune of over £830m!

Manchester City then quickly responded with an official release of their own, predictably claiming yet again that they had done nothing wrong and denying their guilt on all 114 charges.
