Dan Burn has been reflecting on this Newcastle United season.
With 56 matches played and two more to go.
Dan Burn recently turned 34 and has played in 42 of the 56 matches so far this season.
The England international starting 11 out of 12 games in the Champions League.
The central defender also having to deal with a punctured lung and broken rib after the cowardly challenge from a Sunderland player that left him ruled out of action for a period of time.
Asked by BBC Newcastle how he has found this NUFC campaign, Dan Burn replying: “Tough!”
The Geordie defender explaining: “Because we have attacked every competition, I think it has mentally tested me quite a lot this season. I think the top teams, like the Man Citys, who have played regularly in all four competitions, seem to deal with it really well. That is the goal and where we need to get to. It is something that we will learn from.”
Dan Burn giving his verdict on how he feels about the 2025/26 season as a whole: “Very very proud. We are the first Newcastle United team to get to the knockout stage of the Champions League and I thought we went toe-to-toe for the majority of the games but their [Barcelona’s] quality shone through in the end. I have loved this season, we have put in some very good performances and we have got a good opportunity to finish the season long. There’s not a lot of points between the teams around us so you never know what might happen.”
