It was the Carabao Cup fourth round draw tonight.

The draw taking place after Manchester United managed to lose 3-2 at Old Trafford to Brighton despite going two up in the opening ten minutes.

Newcastle United were ball number 9 in this Carabao Cup fourth round draw.

Matthias Jaissle and his team having defeated West Brom in the second round and Millwall in the third.

Their reward is… Everton away.

The Carabao Cup fourth round ties to be played week commencing Monday 26 October.

The fact that the eight Premier League clubs involved in the Champions League and Europa League couldn’t play one of the other seven has helped ensure there will be very few teams from the lower leagues in the fourth round.

So far there are twelve Premier League clubs that have qualified, plus Peterborough and Bradford from League One, as well as Fleetwood from League Two.

To prevent there being 13 Premier League clubs in the last 16, Norwich need to win at Man City on Thursday.

The ball numbers for tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth round draw:

1 Bournemouth
2 Arsenal
3 Bradford
4 Brentford
5 Chelsea
6 Palace
7 Fulham
8 Liverpool
9 Newcastle United
10 Peterboorough
11 Sunderland
12 Villa
13 Everton
