Newcastle v West Brom tickets go on ‘sale’ to NUFC fans later today, via a ballot initially.
That ballot opening at 12 noon on Monday.
Only Newcastle United members can enter, including those season tickets holders who haven’t chosen to automatically get all home Carabao Cup tickets.
Details of Newcastle v West Brom tickets for away fans have also been made public today.
The West Brom allocation is 3,214 tickets, which is the usual Premier League allocation for away fans at St James’ Park.
In the Carabao Cup though, away sides are entitled to 10% of capacity (15% in FA Cup matches).
Whilst 10% of the St James’ Park capacity would equal 5,200+, issues with segregation and home and away fans needing to use different exits means that for Carabao Cup matches it is usually just under 4,900 as a maximum number of away supporters for this competition at SJP.
So it appears West Brom choosing to take a smaller allocation than they could have done.
West Brom won 4-1 away at Rotherham in the Carabao Cup first round to reach this stage. Then at the weekend they kicked off their Championship campaign with an impressive 2-1 away win at Norwich.
