Most exciting announcement from Newcastle United owners since the takeover looks imminent

The Newcastle United owners appear to be now moving towards a key announcement.

Which for me will be the most exciting news since the takeover back in October 2021.

We have recently seen a lot of encouraging signs.

The training ground (and sleeve of the training kit) sponsorship deal that will be for three years, starting 1 July 2026. With the promise of a lot more to come, as the Newcastle United owners finally look to maximise income from all possible areas in terms of commercial revenue.

Thursday brought news that before the end of April the Newcastle United owners are to hold a summit at Matfen Hall with the senior NUFC staff, with a new Newcastle United stadium top of the agenda.

Also yesterday, we had the Newcastle United season ticket waiting list revealed, with it to be in place from this summer onwards.

My belief is that we are now at last rapidly moving towards the much awaited announcement of the brand new stadium.

The actual reality of it completed and ready to welcome fans and matches will of course still then take a number of years, BUT once we hear the plans announced, Newcastle United fans can then all start counting down the days for it to be in place.

Ahead of the eventual takeover in October 2021, fans were led to believe that these would be two top priorities for the new Newcastle United owners. A brand new much bigger capacity stadium (or much expanded St James’ Park) and a new state of the art training complex.

I think for Newcastle United fans, they understand that these are very large and expensive projects, but at the same time have become increasingly frustrated at the fact that so many years on we are still waiting on essential decisions if the club are going to properly compete on and off the pitch.

Without that far bigger modern Newcastle United stadium, it will be all but impossible to close the financial chasm that still exists between United and the half dozen Premier League clubs that made such huge financial advances, whilst we had a decade and a half of Mike Ashley. Also, with so many fans desperate to get tickets for matches, this wait for news on the stadium, makes every ballot failure even more painful.
