The Everton v Newcastle United Carabao Cup match seems set to be on this date due to other fixtures

The draw for the Carabao Cup fourth round draw was made on Wednesday night.

This came after the conclusion of the match at Old Trafford, Brighton beating Man U 3-2.

Last night also saw Fleetwood Town, Everton and Aston Villa progress.

For some reason Man City v Norwich City isn’t getting played until tonight.

So that meant 17 clubs were in last night’s draw.

The full Carabao Cup fourth round draw:

Fleetwood v Arsenal
Man City or Norwich v Brighton
Everton v Newcastle United
Sunderland v Brentford
Liverpool v Chelsea
Bradford v Peterborough
Fulham v Palace
Bournemouth v Villa

So Newcastle United getting an away draw at Everton.

United having the joy of facing the scouse mackems two matches in a row, this Carabao Cup away one against Everton to be played in the midweek of week commencing Monday 26 October, then at St James’ Park on Monday 2 November the Toffees are the visitors in the Premier League.

As for the timing of the Hill Dickinson fourth round tie, the fact that Liverpool have also got a home draw (against Chelsea) appears to point to a very strong prediction of when the Everton v Newcastle match will take place.

I know you can never underestimate the capacity of the football authorities to surprise us, usually not in a good way, there appears to be very obvious dates when the Carabao Cup matches featuring Liverpool v Chelsea and Everton v Newcastle have to be scheduled.

For none of the four clubs to have to play another match within 48 hours that week, it would mean Liverpool v Chelsea on Wednesday 28 October and Everton v Newcastle on Thursday 29 October.
