A game that Newcastle United ended up winning 3-1 against the Hammers.

So what about this ‘controversial’ incident…

Dermot Gallagher talking to Sky Sports about this Newcastle United v West Ham United controversial incident:

INCIDENT:

With Newcastle 2-0 up and an hour played, Bruno Guimaraes is fouled by Tomas Soucek. Bruno falls on the ball and the referee blows for a free-kick but in frustration the West Ham player kicks the Newcastle star a couple of times whilst he is lying on the ground. The referee only gives a yellow card and VAR doesn’t intervene.

DERMOT GALLAGHER:

“Tomas Soucek flicked out at Bruno Guimaraes. I think it’s unwise, petulant. He’s probably frustrated. Is it violent? I don’t think so.”

SKY SPORTS PUNDIT AND FORMER PLAYER JAY BOTHROYD:

“To me that is violent conduct. If his arm isn’t there, he’ll be kicking him in the head twice. An act of violence.”
