Alan Shearer with these big Newcastle United and Sunderland predictions

Alan Shearer has cast his eye over Newcastle United and Sunderland.

United unbeaten after five games.

Matthias Jaissle overseeing victories against Spurs, West Brom and Millwall, as well as draws against Liverpool and Bournemouth who both finished top six in the Premier League last season.

Newcastle United come into the weekend sitting in sixth place in the Premier League and through to the last sixteen of the Carabao Cup.

As for Sunderland, they are currently twelfth in the Premier League and are also into the last 16 of the Carabao Cup, after winning 1-0 at home against Hull in midweek in a half empty Stadium of Light.

Ahead of the weekend’s matches, Alan Shearer making his predictions ahead of the two clubs facing their next Premier League opponents.

It is Leeds United v Newcastle United at 8pm on Monday and Alan Shearer saying to Betfair: “It’s always a ferocious atmosphere at Elland Road. It’s only down the road really, an hour and a half down the road from Newcastle, so there’ll be thousands of fans travelling down there. Elland Road’s a great atmosphere. I’m going to go for a Newcastle away win. They’re unbeaten this season, two wins in the cup, and three [matches unbeaten] in the league. I am going to go for an away win, and I hope the boys can keep this good run going.”

As for the Mackems, it is an 8pm kick-off tonight for Sunderland v Arsenal.

Alan Shearer declaring: “Arsenal are very solid, they’re strong in every position. Sunderland got a good point away at Brentford last week, but I think Arsenal will have too much for them. I think Arsenal will have too much for most teams this season. So, I am going for Arsenal to win and continue their strong start to the season.”
