I have been looking into the likely away ticket allocation for Newcastle United fans against Everton.
Wednesday night saw the Carabao Cup fourth round draw made.
The draw was made last night on Sky Sports following their Old Trafford broadcast of Manchester United embarrassingly collapsing to lose 3-2 at home to Brighton, despite Man U having led 2-0 after ten minutes.
Everton also progressing last night thanks to an unconvincing scrambled 1-0 home win against second tier Wolves.
Sean Neave made his first start on loan for Wolves and impressed, the visitors starting the game with a 4-2-3-1 formation and the United loanee playing as one of the trio supporting main striker Raul Jimenez.
In the Carabao Cup the rules state that away fans are entitled to 10% of the stadium capacity and at the Hill Dickinson the official capacity is 52,679. So away fans in this competition guaranteed at least 5,200+ tickets unless those in authority dictate otherwise.
In the event there was an under capacity crowd of 50,970 at the Hill Dickinson and Wolves only asked for an allocation of 3,000 tickets.
The visit of Newcastle United (in week commencing Monday 26 October 2026) will be only the third Carabao Cup match that the Hill Dickinson has hosted.
Back on 27 August 2025, 48,583 turned up to see Everton win 2-0 in the Carabao Cup second round against Mansfield Town.
I searched the Mansfield Town official site and some very encouraging news for Newcastle United fans hoping to get a ticket as United try to reach the last eight of the Carabao Cup for a fifth time in a row,
Mansfield Town official announcement on 21 August 2025: ‘Tickets for our Carabao Cup second round tie away to Everton (Wednesday 27 August) will now go on general sale from 5pm on Friday 22 August…The club has received a full allocation of 6,518 tickets, as well as 30 wheelchair & carer tickets.’
Here’s hoping Newcastle United fans get the same, rather than the officially guaranteed 5,200+ ticket allocation.
This is the full Carabao Cup fourth round draw that was made on Wednesday night:
Fleetwood v Arsenal
Man City or Norwich v Brighton
Everton v Newcastle United
Sunderland v Brentford
Liverpool v Chelsea
Bradford v Peterborough
Fulham v Palace
Bournemouth v Villa
