Eight players have been nominated for the August 2026 EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, and you can help to decide who wins.
You, the fans, have until 12:00 BST on Monday 7 September to vote for one player from the shortlist below. Choose your winner on the EA SPORTS website.
The public votes will be combined with those of a panel of football experts and the Premier League captains to decide the winner, who will be revealed on Friday 11 September.

Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal)

Two assists in two matches would be strong numbers for a forward, but left-back Calafiori has been as effective defensively as he has been going forward for Arsenal. The Gunners are yet to concede this season – the defence allowing only one shot on target across games against Coventry City and Aston Villa. Calafiori has been a torment on the overlap: his brilliant low cross set up Kai Havertz for Arsenal’s first goal of the season, and against Villa a cutback provided Bukayo Saka with a tap-in for the winner.
Rayan Cherki (Manchester City)

Two goals and two assists placed the attacking midfielder at the heart of Manchester City’s perfect start. Cherki came off the bench with Man City trailing on the opening weekend against AFC Bournemouth and set up two late goals to turn the match around. Starting against Crystal Palace, he scored a phenomenal solo goal – evading four defenders before finishing in the corner – then added a second with a crisp shot from 20 yards.
Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

A stunning performance in Manchester United’s thumping victory over Ipswich Town propelled Fernandes into Player of the Month contention. He scored a 28-minute hat-trick: drawing Man Utd level just before half-time with an emphatic strike, calmly converting a penalty, then completing his treble with a sharp touch and finish. Not done yet, Fernandes’ beautiful long pass set up Bryan Mbeumo for another.
Cole Palmer (Chelsea)

Two match-winning goals in two games was the perfect start for the Chelsea playmaker. They included a brilliant dribble and finish against Brighton & Hove Albion and an intricate strike through Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno’s legs from a tight angle. Palmer also clipped the ball through for Joao Pedro to score within a minute against the Cottagers. Palmer has been extremely sharp, dovetailing brilliantly with Joao Pedro and new signing Morgan Rogers in Xabi Alonso’s attack.
Joao Pedro (Chelsea)

The Brazilian forward continued where he left off last season with two dominant performances, scoring twice and setting up two match-winners in a rampant Chelsea front three. Joao Pedro set the tone for what was to come by scoring after only 31 seconds against Fulham, flicking the ball brilliantly over Leno, then laid the ball off for Palmer to score the decisive goal. Against former club Brighton, he finished well for Chelsea’s third goal, before passing to Palmer once again for the match-winner.
Mamadou Sangare (Brentford)

Brentford’s new signing has been the driving force in their unbeaten start. He set up a goal in the 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur with a brilliant one-two before playing the ball across for Keane Lewis-Potter. The box-to-box midfielder has dominated the centre of the pitch, making 27 defensive contributions, including 12 recoveries, six tackles and five interceptions. He has also won 12 duels and created four chances.
Konstantinos Tzolakis (Hull City)

Eight shots faced and no goals conceded helped promoted Hull City to a 100 per cent win rate after two games. Tzolakis kept his cool facing a barrage of 21 shots in Hull’s first match, making five saves as they stunned Man Utd, then followed it with another shutout in a tight victory against fellow newly-promoted side Coventry.
Yoane Wissa (Newcastle United)

Wissa has demonstrated his versatility for Newcastle under new head coach Matthias Jaissle, impressing both as a No 10 and as a striker. He was Player of the Match in the draw against Liverpool – registering an assist as good as a goal with a driving run from outside his own box deep into the opposition half before passing to Joe Willock to score. He followed that with a superb improvised finish in the win against Spurs, acrobatically hooking the ball past Antonin Kinsky.
