It has now been revealed that Newcastle United have agreed a deal to bring in the current Oxford United recruitment chief.
Football League World have the exclusive and report that Scott Mitchell is going to be moving to St James’ Park.
After finishing his playing career, Mitchell was Head of Ipswich Town Academy recruitment, before then leading the recruitment team at League One side Wycombe Wanderers.
Scott Mitchell then became Oxford United Head of recruitment in November 2024.
Football League World stating: ‘Mitchell has agreed a deal to head up to Newcastle ahead of internal restructuring at St James’ Park.’
The numbers are increasing at Newcastle United all of the time when it comes to senior staff, on both the business and football side of things.
Newcastle United CEO David Hopkinson has been overseeing a restructuring on the business side of things, with a number of key appointments made and others pending.
Whilst Sporting Director Ross Wilson has now been in his job the best part of a year and presumably Scott Mitchell coming in to take a role as part of Wilson’s own restructuring and expansion of the recruitment side of things at NUFC.
