If Thomas Tuchel is ever asked in advance of any England match what his team is going to be, he can quite honestly say he isn’t totally sure.

The number of players dropping out of the national squad is getting to epidemic proportions.

The running total has now increased to eight England players having dropped out of this current squad (so far…).

At 10am on Monday morning The FA have revealed that two more have left the England squad due to injury.

This time it is Ezri Konsa and Alex Scott who have been ruled out of Tuesday’s UEFA Nations League meeting with the Czech Republic at Wembley. The pair have returned to their respective clubs for further assessment on their injuries.

Nico O’Reilly was the most recent player to drop out of Thomas Tuchel’s squad before today’s news.

That followed five of the England players dropping out of this England squad before a ball had even been kicked in anger. Tino Livramento, Kobbie Mainoo, Cole Palmer, Marcus Rashford and Declan Rice pulling out.

Rico Lewis was added to the England squad on Sunday and this followed James Garner and Morgan Gibbs-White doing the same previously.

Which I think leaves now Thomas Tuchel with this much changed England squad of 22 for the fourth and final match of this international break, a 7.45pm kick-off on Tuesday night at Wembley against the Czech Republic.

The England squad (see below) after eight have dropped out and three came in:

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Jason Steele (Brighton & Hove Albion), James Trafford (Leeds United)

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid), Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Trevoh Chalobah (Como), Marc Guéhi (Manchester City), Lewis Hall (Newcastle United), Jarrell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen), Rico Lewis (Manchester City)

Midfielders: Elliot Anderson (Manchester City), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal), James Garner (Everton), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest)

Forwards: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United), Eberechi Eze (Arsenal), Anthony Gordon (Barcelona), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Rio Ngumoha (Liverpool), Morgan Rogers (Chelsea), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
