With depleted numbers at least 7 spaces to fill in 2026/27 Newcastle United 25 man Premier League squad

I have been having a look ahead to the 25 man Newcastle United Premier League squad for the 2026/27 season.

At the end of this summer 2026 transfer window, all 20 Premier League clubs have to name a senior 25 man squad for the league campaign.

These then will be the only senior Newcastle United players allowed to play in the Premier League in the first half of the 2026/27 season.

Changes can be made to this 25 man Premier League squad once we get to January 2027 transfer window.

As a bonus, you have those who count extra as Under 21s. For the 2026/27 campaign, a Premier League Under 21 player is anyone born on or after January 1, 2005.

For the first half of the 2025/26 season this was the senior 25 man Newcastle United Premier League squad confirmed on 12 September 2025 (those in bold are the ones who definitely won’t be playing for NUFC in the 2026/27 season):

Newcastle United
25 Squad players (*Home grown)
Apolinario De Lira, Joelinton Cassio
Ashby, Harrison Charles*
Barnes, Harvey Lewis*
Botman, Sven Adriaan
Burn, Daniel Johnson*
Elanga, Anthony David Junior*
Gillespie, Mark Joseph*
Gordon, Anthony Michael*
Guimaraes Rodriguez Moura, Bruno
Kraft, Emil Henry Kristoffer
Lascelles, Jamaal*
Livramento, Valentino*
Murphy, Jacob Kai*
Osula, William Idamudia Daugaard*
Pope, Nicholas David*
Ramsdale, Aaron*

Ruddy, John Thomas Gordon*
Schar, Fabian Lukas
Thiaw, Malick
Tonali, Sandro
Trippier, Kieran John*
Willock, Joseph George*
Wissa, Yoane
Woltemade, Nick

As you can see, the six in bold are no longer going to be with Newcastle United. Harrison Ashby was named in the squad a year ago but (no disrespect) was never going to be involved. Ashby and Joe White are still under contract as things stand at Newcastle United but I can’t see either involved with the NUFC first team, so this means only 18 of the 25 above will still be part of the 25 man Newcastle United Premier League senior squad for the 2026/27 season.

Naturally, if anybody else leaves then that means even more space opens up…

Lewis Hall was counted as an Under 21 player las season but no longer will be for the 2026/27 season, the same with  Alex Murphy. Interesting to see if Alex Murphy stays or leaves for another club, on loan or permanently for first team football.

Anyway, Lewis Hall takes us up to 19 of 25 senior players for the 2026/27 Premier League squad and Murphy would/could make it 20.

Odysseas Vlachodimos could be part of the Newcastle United squad but minimal chance of that happening surely.

Ewen Jaouen counts as an Under 21 player for the 2026/27 season, as does Lewis Miley.

Whilst it will also be interesting what happens with the likes of Sean Neave, Trevan Sanusi, Leo Shahar, Aidan Harris, Seung-soo Park and others. Will they go out on loan or potentially progress towards getting first team minutes next season.

One thing for sure though. No need to worry about not having space for new signings this summer, whatever age they are. Plenty room in the 25 man NUFC Premier League squad as things currently stand.
