It was a busy night of international football at Under 21 level as a number of young Newcastle United stars were involved.
These were European Championship group qualifying games that were played out on Friday.
Sean Steur had been called up for the very first time for the Netherlands Under 21s thanks to his impressive form for Newcastle United.
The 18-year-old with his first ever appearance at this level as the Netherlands played out a goalless draw at home to Norway. Sean Steur came off the bench in the 83rd minute and ironically it was Kees Smit he replaced, the AZ Alkmaar midfielder who United have been regularly linked with in the past.
Lewis Miley sat on from the bench and watched the England Under 21s win 4-2 against Kazakhstan.
Two young Newcastle United players had been called up by France for their Under 21 matches in this international break.
Aladji Bamba was an unused sub as France drew 1-1 away against Iceland, though Ewen Jaouen played the full match and after the French scored on 31 minutes through Tel the Newcastle United keeper was beaten in the 52nd minute by a Gudjohnsen strike.
