Harry Redknapp has been talking about Newcastle United.
The former Spurs and West Ham manager, discussing NUFC as we are now only a couple of weeks away from the end of this season.
A gruelling season for Newcastle United and the club’s fans in many ways, with the final three matches of a 58 game season still to play.
Harry Redknapp declaring: “Newcastle and Eddie really needed that [Brighton] win last week. The owners have come out and publicly backed him, that’s nice to see but in modern football, who knows how much that actually means!”
The Newcastle United owners haven’t actually made any public statement one way or another on Eddie Howe.
However, the more credible journalists covering NUFC have all claimed this to be the case and for what it is worth, I believe it and think this is what will happen. That Eddie Howe will get the chance next season to get United back on track in the Premier League.
Sunday’s opponents Nottingham Forest may have done just about enough now to no longer be in serious threat of relegation (six points clear with three games to play.
However, injuries have now piled up and they looked a tired and demoralised team when thrashed 4-0 by Villa last night, denied the chance of playing in a Europa League final.
Harry Redknapp commenting to BetVictor: “I’ll be honest, I thought Forest were very disappointing against Villa. Villa played well but Forest made it so easy for them, they badly missed Morgan Gibbs-White.”
Predicting a 1-1 draw at the City Ground, Harry Redknapp adding: “One to watch – Elliot Anderson going against his boyhood club here, he could run the show from midfield.”
