The positivity continues to flow for the future prospects at Newcastle United.
It has gone a little under the radar but exciting times at the Newcastle United Academy.
This weekend the Newcastle United Under 18s handed out a 6-1 thrashing to Blackburn Rovers.
The young United stars 2-0 up at the break, thanks to an own goal and one from Newcastle United captain Noah Morgan.
Playing at home, Blackburn brought the score to 2-1 with a half hour remaining.
However, that simply prompted the Newcastle United Under 18s to take the opposition apart, with Alfie Seldon, Alfie Hutchison, Jack Skelton and Charlie Robinson adding four more to give United a thumping 6-1 victory.
A huge bonus is just how young many of these NUFC Under 18s team are.
Charlie Robinson is still only 15 and captained England at Under-16 level last week, Muawiya Ghanem is also still only 15.
Alfie Seldon scored his fourth goal in these opening three league matches and he is still only 16, goalkeeper Roman Dowell the same age, Jayden Kouossu is another 16-year-old.

Still very early days of course but great to see the Newcastle United Under 18s at the very top of the league table.
It is split into North and South in this age category and after three matches Newcastle have nine points from three league games and have scored 12 goals.

2021/22 – Newcastle United Under 18s finished 14th of 14 with 17 points.
2022/23 – Newcastle United Under 18s finished 12th of 13 with 24 points
2023/24 – Newcastle United Under 18s finished 8th of 13 with 32 points.
2024/25 – Newcastle United Under 18s finished 5th of 13 with 35 points
2025/26 – Newcastle United Under 18s finished 3rd of 14 with 49 points
Indeed, last season, only Manchester City and Manchester United finished above Newcastle United in the Under 18s (North) league table.
Now with ‘just’ the 25 league games still to play, the NUFC Under 18s looking to progress even further. Plus most importantly, continuing to build towards a position whereby a regular production line of talent will come through to challenge for the first team.
