At his pre-match press conference, Matthias Jaissle on the Newcastle United fans ahead of this Bournemouth match at St James’ Park:
“We hope the atmosphere will be the same energy they have shown already, I really hope the fans are cheering for us in the same way.”
Matthias Jaissle on the summer transfer window:
“I am happy, a great job from Ross Wilson and his team. We are aligned on everything. We’ve had a really clear idea where we wanted to go this window. Bringing in younger signings with huge potential, I am excited to work with the players.”
Matthias Jaissle on the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo:
“We worked hard on the deal, finalised it in the last hours, really pleased. For a young age, he is already showing a lot of strength on the pitch, that speed up front, he is versatile, gives us the freedom to adjust from match to match. This is something I like as a coach, that we are flexible. He is fit, he is training with us, it has been a while since he played a full 90 minutes, it is important for him to adapt. We will have a close eye on him and be smart with the load management.”
Matthias Jaissle on Nick Woltemade who has gone out on loan to Juventus:
“I really appreciate Nick Woltemade as a player, for his quality but also him as a human being. We had some honest conversations and he decided to take this other challenge. I am really optimistic he will shine at Juventus and score lots of goals. He is still our player and so we will stay in close contact.”
Matthias Jaissle on Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa:
“We are really pleased with both of them, that they have shined in the beginning of the season already. There are periods for players where things don’t go for them but they are having a good period now. They are working hard to get these rewards. Their game is on them, how much they believe in themselves, we are there to support them.”
Matthias Jaissle on Amar Dedić:
“Amar has been exceptional so far, pleased with how fast he has adapted to the team, the playing style, the league. He knows how I want to play football. Amazing start, hopefully he can continue in the same way.”
