Mikel Arteta has been speaking ahead of Arsenal facing Newcastle United.
The Gunners knowing that if they avoid defeat on Saturday they go back top of the Premier League.
However, after having been nine points clear less than two weeks ago, in reality all the pressure on Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.
With five matches to go and Manchester City in great form, the Gunners may well need to win all five remaining games to stand a chance of winning the title.
Mikel Arteta confirming that Jurrien Timber won’t be available to fact Newcastle but Riccardo Calafiori.
The Arsenal boss also hoping Bukayo Saka will also be back.
Mikel Arteta at his pre-match press conference: “Bukayo Saka is probably is going to be in the squad, so good news. He was in great spirits today. You can see that the sun is shining and that he is back with the team because he had a different energy. He has been through a tough period and we certainly missed him, he’s back with us now.”
The Arsenal boss asked about Newcastle United and their recent form.
Mikel Arteta: “We know the difficulty of the league. It is very clear the ability and the quality of Newcastle United, what Eddie’s done with that team and continues to do, we know how tough the opponent is going to be tomorrow. We have to be at our best. If we do that, we are going to have a big chance to win.”
Mikel Arteta believing Arsenal can still win the Premier League title and Champions League: “I have belief in our players, the willingness that we have to achieve what we want. It is five games to go, four weeks, two big competitions to play for, everything to play for. If someone had told us that at the beginning of the season, we would have taken it. We are so excited, and tomorrow is game one.”
The Arsenal boss asked if they have everything to win or everything to lose?
Mikel Arteta: “We have everything to win. Everything to play for. Go and grab it. That’s it. It’s there to grab it, and we need to do it. We need to win the next game. That is the most important thing. That is the main thing. We can control our performance, our mindset, attitude towards the game tomorrow against Newcastle, and that’s the only thing that matters.”
