Matthias Jaissle Millwall press conference, asked if Tino Livramento and Aladji Bamba will play?

Matthias Jaissle has given his pre-Millwall press conference ahead of Newcastle United visiting on Tuesday night.

An 8pm kick-off as United hope to progress into the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.

Matthias Jaissle and his Newcastle United team are now unbeaten in their opening four matches.

Five Premier League points from 2-2 draws against Liverpool and Bournemouth, with a win at Tottenham sandwiched in between.

Whilst there was also a 3-2 victory over West Brom in the Carabao Cup third round.

Aladji Bamba has only played the last quarter of an hour against Liverpool so far, Matthias Jaissle asked if the 20-year-old midfielder could play at Millwall?: “First of all, we need to discuss and see how the lads respond physically and mentally [after the Bournemouth game]. Aladji is a young lad with huge potential but also we know we need to be patient with him, we need to give him time to adapt. Everyone responds a little differently to the physicality, to the intensity of the game. But yes, like many other players, he could be an option [at Millwall].”

Matthias Jaissle asked what his thoughts were about Matias Fernandez-Pardo’s debut as a sub against Bournemouth?: “Excited for the future.”

Matthias Jaissle asked, are you aware of the reputation surrounding Millwall?: “Yes, I am aware of it (smiles).”

Matthias Jaissle asked if it worries him?: “No, I am protected in my box [Matthias Jaissle with a big smile as he indicates with his finger the dimensions of the area managers can stand in, in front of the dugout].”

Matthias Jaissle asked what the goalkeeping situation is for Tuesday after Ewen Jaouen [who started in the Carabao Cup against West Brom] was missing from the matchday squad against Bournemouth?: “We need to see, the reason he was missing was because he twisted his ankle, so a bit of time to go before making a decision who will play in goal.”

Tino Livramento came on as a late sub against Bournemouth having been out injured for some time, Matthias Jaissle asked if he is now available to start games?: “No.”

Matthias Jaissle asked how much he will look to rotate in the cup?: “There is always a fine line when making these decisions. I think it is a smart move to wait and see how the lads respond physically and mentally from that [Bournemouth] match and then make a decision. We are aware of the schedule, what comes afterwards, but I think the physical levels from the lads are getting better and better.”
