The departure of Mike Ashley meant the return of Wor Flags to St James’ Park in October 2021 as they ended their boycott.
The pre-match flag displays once again becoming part of the matchday routine.
Then ahead of the first home match of the 2022/23 season, Wor Flags invited all fans to consider helping them with future flag displays by setting up a regular monthly donation to assist in funding them.
On behalf of everybody who visits The Mag, we signed up in summer 2022 to make a modest regular monthly donation to help fund Wor Flags and that is still ongoing more than four years later.

At the weekend we saw the Bournemouth match mark ten years since the very first St James’ Park display.
We would also like you consider helping Wor Flags in another way.
They now have a separate fund to raise money for flag displays at the matches when the Newcastle United Women’s team play. They have their own growing collection of bespoke flags as Wor Flags look to help them with matchday displays and build atmospheres that can help them win matches.

The club are now clearly having a serious push at getting the Newcastle United Women’s team into the Super League. Serious investment into pretty much a whole team of new players this summer.
We need a football club that is growing in every way, from the youngest age groups on the male side right through to the first team, the same on the female side of things. Growing together Newcastle United football club will be far stronger.
The Lasses will be playing six home league games (the majority) at St. James’ Park throughout the campaign, including the Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland. The other five league games to be played at Gateshead International Stadium and indeed the team kicked off the first of those five this season in the best possible way on Sunday with a 2-0 home league win over Wolves at the GIS.
