MILLWALL v NEWCASTLE UNITED | CARABAO CUP PREVIEW! ⚫⚪🏆🔥
CUP FOOTBALL IS BACK — AND NEWCASTLE UNITED ARE HEADING TO THE DEN!
Newcastle United turn their attention to the Carabao Cup Third Round as Matthias Jaissle's side travel to London to take on Millwall at The Den on Tuesday night. Newcastle reached this stage after beating West Bromwich Albion 3-2, while Millwall have already knocked out QPR and Cambridge United.
This will be Newcastle's first competitive meeting with Millwall since 1993 and their first-ever visit to the Lions' current stadium.
And Jaissle knows Newcastle could be in for a proper cup battle!
Millwall come into the game on the back of an emphatic 4-0 Championship victory over Bolton, and with The Den's reputation for producing an intimidating atmosphere, Newcastle will need to be ready from the first whistle.
The big question is: HOW MUCH WILL JAISSLE ROTATE?
With another Premier League game to come against Leeds, this could be an opportunity for some fringe players and youngsters to impress. Matias Fernandez-Pardo could be handed his first Newcastle start, while the likes of Lewis Miley and Aladji Bamba could also come into contention.

Millwall will fancy their chances of an upset, particularly after their big weekend victory, but Newcastle should have enough quality in this rebuilt squad to get the job done.
There can be no complacency, though. It's a knockout game — win and Newcastle are into the Fourth Round. Lose and the Carabao Cup journey is over!
