Newcastle United could yet sign off on another deal despite the English transfer window closing on Monday evening.
Eddie Howe will have to wait until the summer to make any major improvements to his starting XI at Newcastle United.
It has now been three transfer windows since any marquee signings arrived at St James’ Park, and the winter window just passed has only weakened the current Newcastle squad.
Miguel Almiron rejoined Atlanta United and Lloyd Kelly signed for Juventus on an initial loan with a £20m buy option.
That is not where the departures end either. Jamie Miley joined Hartlepool on loan and Isaac Hayden left for Portsmouth. Now, one of Newcastle’s brightest young talents could be headed for the exit.
Newcastle United invite Garang Kuol loan offers
Since the PIF takeover, Newcastle have been on the lookout for young, exciting talents.
Garang Kuol was signed by PIF in 2022 after wowing scouts. Now 20 years old, the Australian winger is looking to breakthrough into Howe’s first-team plans.
Kuol scored his first Newcastle goal in January as a reminder to the club of his lofty potential. However, he still needs more experience before becoming a first-team regular.
Kuol missed out on a summer exit due to injury but has been a key member of the Under-21s side.
As reported by Shields Gazette, Newcastle are still open to letting Kuol leave amid links to Australia.
While the English transfer window closed on Monday evening, the Australian transfer window still open until Wednesday, February 12 meaning there is still over a week remaining to get a deal over the line.
Newcastle coach admits Garang Kuol could leave
Newcastle Under-21s lead coach Diarmuid O’Carroll has admitted that Kuol could still leave this month, but equally he could stay put for the remainder of the season.
“Potentially [he will stay],” O’Carroll said.
“No decisions are made. Obviously, everything can change in the last week in the window. But I think from our point of view, we’re perfectly comfortable with him being in the building.

“If someone was to come and there’s an attractive option, again we would sit down as a team in terms of Jack [Ross] and everybody and we weigh it up.”
If an “attractive” offer arrives for Kuol in the next month, the young winger could be loaned out to gather more experience.
