Eddie Howe’s future at Newcastle United may be intrinsically linked to the club’s potential move to a new training ground and a new stadium.
For the first real time at Newcastle United, Howe is under pressure. His side have endured a miserable start to the domestic campaign, leading to criticism from sections of the support.
Geordie Boot Boys understands that Howe has PIF’s full backing at Newcastle, having twice led them into the Champions League while winning the Carabao Cup.
The 47-year-old is certainly in the argument to be considered Newcastle United’s greatest-ever manager.
Newcastle are labouring right now, there’s little doubt about that. Still, there are exciting times to come and Howe has certainly proven he can deliver on them before.
With that in mind, a recent article from Newcastle expert Luke Edwards is particularly interesting.

Newcastle United stadium news set to come in 2026 and Eddie Howe is seen as the manager to lead them into it
According to The Daily Telegraph, CEO David Hopkinson and sporting director Ross Wilson have been steadfast in their support of the Newcastle United manager.
Announcements on a new training ground and a potential move to a new stadium are likely to come, though fans have been hearing that for a while. Communication on the former may finally arrive this season.
Confirmation over PIF’s plans to build a new Newcastle United stadium is “also expected” to come in 2026.
Those behind the scenes at the club already believe they have the right manager to lead them into a new and exciting future.

When Eddie Howe last turned a Newcastle United crisis around
Such was the success of last season, it’s easy to forget some of the rough moments.
Indeed, Newcastle were on a terrible run towards the end of 2024. They did not win a Premier League game for over a month between late September and late October.
After wins over Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in November, another dire run started.
Newcastle were beaten by West Ham in one of Eddie Howe’s worst defeats as Newcastle manager. Draws against Crystal Palace and Liverpool followed before a defeat at Brentford.
Still, Howe turned it around. After crunch talks, they won six consecutive league games while booking their place in the Carabao Cup final. The rest, of course, is history.
There’s every reason to believe Howe is the right man to take Newcastle forward. PIF’s stance provides stability in an era-defining time for the club.
