Newcastle made hard work of defeating West Brom at Under-23 level this afternoon but Elliot Anderson did earn some praise.

The 18-year-old has been in fine form of late, earning first-team recognition in the process.

He stepped off the bench during a 3-0 win over Arsenal and has also been an unused substitute in six other Premier League games.

The teenager scored Newcastle's second goal this afternoon with Tom Allan and Stan Flaherty netting the others.

Jamie Soule and Toby King ensured a difficult second half for the Magpies but they did manage to hold on.

Anderson looks like being the next young gem off the conveyor belt of talent at St James' Park and supporters are desperate to see more of him.

Following this afternoon's game, plenty have taken to Twitter to urge Bruce to hand him more opportunities.

With Callum Wilson currently injured and Joelinton going off last night, he has done his chances no harm this afternoon.

Here is what the Newcastle fan base were saying about Anderson after today's game.
