Newcastle United should brace themselves for offers for Tino Livramento in the near future, but selling him doesn’t have to be a major issue for the Magpies.

Since joining Newcastle from Southampton, we’ve seen Tino Livramento develop into one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and establish himself on the outskirts of the England national team.

Imagine a world where Newcastle United are FORCED to sell one player in January. Who should it be? Let us know!

The only real issue for Livramento is staying fit, with the full-back already missing nine games this season due to a knee injury.

But, he’s still attracting a lot of attention from some of the biggest clubs in England. Manchester United want Livramento, while Man City are also thought to be keen. Now, another club has entered the race.

Arsenal join race for Tino Livramento

According to a report from Caught Offside, Arsenal are now interested in signing Livramento as well. It’s said the Gunners will be among the clubs looking to test Newcastle’s desire to keep Livramento either in January or in the summer.

The good news is Livramento himself is not pushing to leave the club. Just the other day, Livramento discussed the idea of a new contract at Newcastle, though he insisted he knows very little about when or if that will come.

As reluctant as Newcastle are to let Livramento go, the fact that three massive clubs are now in the hunt for him suggests that it’s only a matter of time before he does move on.

The report adds that a January move is very unlikely, but suggests a “major saga” could arise over the summer.

With Newcastle projected to finish eighth this season, it would not be surprising to see Livramento make the jump to a club that qualifies for the Champions League and can compete for silverware.

Newcastle United must plan ahead and sign replacement now

Losing a player like Tino Livramento is far from ideal, but it doesn’t have to be a disaster for Newcastle. All they really need to do is plan ahead and find a replacement as soon as possible.

We already know that Eddie Howe has a new full-back on his shopping list ahead of the January transfer window. That is largely to provide cover for the likes of Livramento and Hall, who have been sorely missed when injured this season.

But, the fact of the matter is, the Magpies are going to need to find Livramento’s successor soon enough, and bringing them in during the January window would be wise. It will give the new player time to adjust and settle in, meaning that by the start of next season, if Livramento does leave in the summer, the new man is ready and raring to go.

It’s unclear at this stage who Newcastle want for the role. If it were up to me, I would be looking at Daniel Munoz at Crystal Palace as the kind of player who will be ready to move on to a bigger club. He won’t be cheap, but he would be an ideal fit for Newcastle.
