First half goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford meant Newcastle United's first cup final in 24 years ended in defeat as Manchester United lifted the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
Casemiro headed home Luke Shaw's pinpoint delivery to opening the scoring at Wembley before Rashford's deflected shot found its way past Loris Karius to double his side's advantage.
The Magpies fought valiantly and went close, most notably through Allan Saint-Maximin and Jacob Murphy, but Eddie Howe's men couldn't find a way back into the game as their memorable winning run in this season's competition came to an end at the final hurdle.
