Newcastle United co-owner Jamie Reuben has reacted with delight after the club signed Nick Woltemade.
On Saturday, Newcastle United confirmed a club-record deal to sign Woltemade from Stuttgart.
Woltemade becomes the most expensive player in Newcastle United history and has signed a long-term deal at St James’ Park.
The German striker’s arrival could have huge implications on Alexander Isak’s future on Tyneside but, for now, the wantaway Sweden star really isn’t the story.
Indeed, the main talking point is that Newcastle have finally ended their long-running pursuit of a new striker. After so many setbacks, the club finally have their man.
With that in mind, it’s easy to see why Reuben is delighted.

Jamie Reuben’s verdict on Newcastle United signing Nick Woltemade
It has been a bruising summer for the club. Newcastle have failed to sign Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ektike and Benjamin Sesko all while seeing Isak try and force a move away.
However, at long last, the search is over.
German international Woltemade is here and while he cannot make his debut at Leeds on Saturday, he is almost certain to play against Wolves after the international break.
Taking to social media platform X, Reuben wrote in reaction to the deal: “HERE WE GO.”
Whether Newcastle United will make another signing after Nick Woltemade
Geordie Boot Boys understands that Newcastle still want to sign another striker after Woltemade.
Quite who that is, however, remains to be seen. Brentford continue to insist that Yoane Wissa isn’t leaving, while Wolves have rejected two bids for Jorgen Strand Larsen.
As positive as the Woltemade deal is for Newcastle, they do need another forward. Callum Wilson left the club months ago and Isak could well leave before the window shuts.
While it’s promising that Newcastle have one through the door, they desperately need another.
