Joelinton is calling for PIF to deliver world class infrastructure at Newcastle United.

Though the PIF era at Newcastle United has been a success, there has recently been a feeling that things have stalled off the pitch.

Indeed, the ownership are yet to update fans on potential moves to a new training ground and a new stadium.

As such, even Eddie Howe has suggested that PIF are keeping Newcastle in limbo, and it’s difficult to disagree.

It’s all well and good talking about PIF’s ambitious plans for a new stadium and training ground at Newcastle but actually implementing  them is a different matter entirely.

Howe and his players can do little about the decisions at executive level, but Joelinton has spoken about what the future could hold for the club.

Joelinton calls for PIF to make progress on big Newcastle United plans

The midfielder was speaking after scoring in Newcastle United’s 3-1 win over Burnley, in what was his 200th Premier League appearance.

Naturally, not many of the Newcastle United squad have spoken about the plans, given they are decisions to be made by those who employ them.

However, when asked, Joelinton told The Daily Mail: “The team wants to be one of the best in the world.

“For that, you have to be the best in the world in every respect, with the training ground, with everything to help the players to deliver their best selves on the pitch.

“‘But I do think the club is going in the right direction. It is not easy to build something like that overnight. The club has made a lot of improvements since I came here. It is going in the right direction, I just hope that in the future we can be the best in the world with everything, the training ground and the stadium.”

PIF’s ambition at Newcastle United explained

Despite recent criticism of the Newcastle United owners, they do remain ambitious in their project. At least in theory.

Indeed, CEO David Hopkinson has claimed that PIF want Newcastle to be one of the world’s best clubs by 2030

Last month, Hopkinson said: “That kind of progress doesn’t take as long as you might think.

“First off, we need to be totally aligned about the fact that that’s what we want to do.

“We have to have the courage to ignore those that doubt us, and even those that laugh at us. Because there will be some.”

It’s incredibly hard to imagine there being a new stadium by then given it is only four years away, but a new training ground is at least a possibility.

PIF have given Newcastle an awful lot in their four years in ownership but the next step has to be taken soon.

Clearly, these aren’t decisions that can be rushed, but clarity is needed.
